French white marble and cast brass 8 day time and strike mantel clock, c1870
CONDITION:
this drum-head case is complete but has some of the expected chips, cracks and repairs in this soft stone. The large white porcelain dial, with red minute markers, has a few hairlines; the beveled glass is good as is the lower glass panel for viewing the two-horse pendulum. The six fluted columns, and curved cast friezes, have an old patina. The movement has the 1851Vincenti Medaille D'Argent stamp, and strikes every half hour on a bell. NOTE: very heavy and fragile for shipping. Ht 18.5"
